Children between the ages of 5-12 who have lost a family member or friend are invited to apply for participation in Camp Rainbow.  Any child who is experiencing difficulty with the grieving process, and who would benefit from learning more about grief and loss, may attend the camp, regardless of the length of time since the death or the cause of death.  Children are generally encouraged to attend Camp Rainbow for one or two years maximum. We are thrilled that many of our campers choose to return to the camp as Big Buddies once they reach fourteen!

Parents and guardians are encouraged to complete an application in March or April in order to ensure that the Children’s Bereavement Coordinator has ample time to review the application and meet with the family prior to selection for the camp.  The camper openings will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and camps will usually be held the first weekend in May. Children in our “Kids Helping Kids” programs have priority in enrolling in the camp.

Please contact our Children’s Bereavement Coordinator for an application or more information.
