“In the night of death, hope sees a star, Hospice Support Care’s Adult Bereavement services are peer based and assist adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one whether family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers. In addition to serving the families of Hospice Support Care’s patients, the program is open to anyone living in the greater Fredericksburg area. There are no charges for program participation. Participation in bereavement support groups is encouraged as a way to share experiences and learn ways of coping with loss. Pre-registration is required so interested individuals are asked to call and talk with the Bereavement Coordinator prior to attending any meetings. For more information about any of HSC programs, please contact the Adult Bereavement Coordinator. Other Area Bereavement Resources Compassionate Friends: Self-help group for parents who have lost a child of any age. Meets 3rd Tuesday monthly, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 5120 Harrison Rd. Fredericksburg 540-775-8430. Theos: An interdenominational support group for widowed persons meeting at the Fredericksburg Baptist Church one Tuesday evening monthly. 540-373-0700. Healing through Support (Share): Monthly support group for those who have lost a child due to miscarriage or infant death. Call 540-741-3268. Pet Loss: Pet loss support group meets monthly on 2nd Tuesday, 7 p.m. Central Rappahannock Library on Caroline Street in Fredericksburg.
